London Business School Annual Fund ScholarshipsEach year, London Business School awards a number of Annual Fund Scholarships to the most outstanding MBA applicants joining the full-time MBA Programme. Usually awarded at the same time candidates are offered a place on the programme, these prestigious awards are based on academic and professional merit and the information supplied in the original MBA application. Last year 35 Annual Fund awards of up to £20,000 were made across 18 different nationalities.

Please note: Annual Fund scholarships are usually awarded to candidates who apply to the MBA Programme in Stage 1, 2 or 3 of the admissions process. We strongly recommend that if you wish to be considered for these scholarships, particularly the awards based on nationality, you apply as early as possible.

London Business School Donor Funded ScholarshipsMany of our scholarships are funded through the generosity of individual alumni and friends, reuniting classes, our corporate partners, foundations and student clubs. These scholarships are available to students starting the London Business School MBA in August 2009, who are not in receipt of corporate sponsorship.

Please note: Most Donor Funded scholarships require offered candidates to submit a separate scholarship application by 5pm, Monday 01 June, 2009. They are, therefore, only available to candidates who are offered a place on the MBA Programme in Stages 1, 2 or 3 of the admissions process. If you wish to apply for any of these awards you must apply for the programme by Stage 3 at the very latest. Details on how to apply will be made available to successful candidates following notification of acceptance. Scholarships are usually awarded in early June, and the Scholarships Committee aims to award as many scholarships as possible before the Reservation Fee deadline (19 June 2009). However, there may be some scholarships that are awarded after this deadline due to the number of applications we receive and the involvement of external committees.

Tilburg University Scholarship

Tilburg University Scholarship Programme

For the year 2009-2010 Tilburg University has 56 scholarships available for excellent international students who are admitted to a Master’s programme at Tilburg University (MA, MSc, LLM or MPhil).
Tilburg University Scholarships include (for the academic year 2009-2010):

• A partial tuition waiver of € 7,812 for non-EEA students. Students pay only € 2,484 instead of the high graduate fee of € 10,296. EEA students pay the same fee as Dutch students, which is € 1,619.
• € 5,000 for the covering of living expenses for one academic year, both for EEA and non-EEA students.

To qualify for a Tilburg University Scholarship, candidates must fulfill the following admission requirements:

• Candidates must have graduated with excellent results in their Bachelor's programme
• Candidates must have scored at least 577 in the TOEFL paper based test, 233 in the TOEFL computer based test, or 90 in the TOEFL internet based test or alternatively 6.5 in the Academic IELTS test
• Candidates should provide two independent letters of reference
• Candidates must have been admitted to one of the Master's programmes at Tilburg University; they have to meet the particular programme's criteria
• Candidates must be able to comply with the conditions to obtain a Dutch visa, if applicable (see here for more information).
• Candidates are encouraged to apply for external scholarships like Huygens Scholarship Programme, Bappenas, Stuned and Netherlands Fellowship Programme as well. If a student receives an external scholarship, fully covering tuition waiver and living expenses, the Tilburg University Scholarship (including tuition waiver and living expenses) will be canceled. If an external scholarship would be less than the Tilburg University Scholarship, the Tilburg University Scholarship will be awarded partially.

When you apply for a Master's programme at Tilburg University you will automatically be considered for the Tilburg University Scholarship Programme. The application deadline for Master's programmes for both EEA and non-EEA students is April 15th, 2009.

Tilburg University Scholarships are awarded for one academic year. Candidates applying for one of the MPhil programmes have to apply for the scholarship again for their second year of the MPhil programme.
If the student should leave the programme prematurely, Tilburg University reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship.

Scholarships help build mutual understanding between Australia and its Asia-Pacific partners.Australian Scholarships offer educational and professional development awards to citizens of the Asia-Pacific region. These opportunities support growth in our region and build enduring links at the individual, institutional and country levels. Awards are available to high achievers from participating countries, as well as for Australians wishing to study overseas.

The Endeavour Awards is the Australian Government’s internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program enabling citizens of the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Europe and the Americas to undertake study, research or professional development in Australia.

Awards are also available for Australians to do the same abroad.

Announcement for Admissions Chiang Mai University’s
Master of Arts in Sustainable Development Academic Year 2009
Chiang Mai University is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the International
Graduate Program for the academic year 2009.
Program: Master of Arts in Sustainable Development, Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development (RCSD), Faculty of Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University.
Plan and Type of the Degree program: Plan A Type A(2) - course work and thesis
Requirements for Degree Credits
Course Work 24 Thesis 12 Total Credits 36
Period of Study: 2 academic years.
The first semester is from June - September and the
second semester is from November – February.
Total number of students to be admitted: 15

Program Aims
We expect the graduates from the program to have the following characteristics:
- A holistic understanding of concepts and methods in both science and social
science disciplines, which will enable them to study the development process from many perspectives, drawing upon an understanding of the wider context of social and ecological changes;
- A better understanding of the complexity of development so as to have an ability to analyze the problems and impacts of development in the past and present;
- Have a strong potential in offering alternatives for sustainable development
direction based on field-research;
- The ability to synthesize their academic knowledge with local knowledge to apply it to practical issues in their respective areas of interest.

Qualifications
All applicants with a bachelor’s degree in all disciplines are eligible to apply for the MA in
Sustainable Development program. Applicants must also have passed TOEFL with a score
of at least 500 or IELTS with a score of 5.5.
Application Procedure
There are three consecutive stages in the application process: (a) written application, (b) interview and (c) admission. Applications are accepted all year round. To apply for a particular academic year, the applications must be submitted by December of the previous
year. The secondary selection, by interview, will be conducted in January. Notification of admission and of award of financial assistance will be sent to applicants in February.
Applicants are required to submit:
- A completed copy of the application forms for the MA in Sustainable Development.
- An official subject transcript in English.
- Three letters of recommendation.
- A TOEFL certificate showing a score of at least 500 or IELTS with a score of at least 5.5. Certification must be current for the application period.
- The applicant’s research outline.
- The application fee (US$20) as a bank order or bank draft made payable to the Dean of the Graduate School.

Application form for admission in 2009 must be submitted by the end of January 2009 and the interview will be taken place if it is necessary. Student selected are required to attend in English Training course for two months, April to May, 2009 before the start of new semester in June. Application form can be submitted to Dean, The Graduate School, Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai 50200, Thailand.

Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships are available from the RCSD annually for students who
demonstrate excellent academic performance. Applicants are urged to seek their own
financial support from private as well as government sources in their own countries. For the current admission, there will be scholarships available for Thai students. Requirement for scholarship holder is to conduct research in the region outside Thailand or a comparative study.
For Vietnamese and Burmese students, at least two scholarships are available for those who pass the requirements.
