La Trobe is an Elite Athlete-Friendly University and has a strong commitment to sport and the role that it plays in a balanced educational environment. Fostering elite athletes and helping them to play sport whilst studying is a major part of that commitment. La Trobe University has many links with local and international sporting organisations. La Trobe University assists elite athletes in sourcing flexible study means to enable them to continuing performing at optimum level whilst studying.

Eligibility/Selection Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
    be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
    be studying Australian Year 12 or IB in 2012, and
    be intending to enrol in a course at a La Trobe campus; and
    achieve an ATAR of 90+; and
    demonstrate high achievement in their chosen sport; and
    be currently competing at state, national or international level in their chosen sport. The chosen sport must be recognised by one of the listed organisations* or if not, the applicant must apply to the University for an exception to be made; and
    be supported by referee reports

*Australian Institute of Sport, State Institutes or Academies of Sport, AFL Players Association, Australian Cricketers Association, Rugby Union Players Association, Rugby League Professionals Association, Australian Professional Footballers Association, National senior squad members from the National Athlete and Career Education supported sports.

National University of Singapore NGS Scholarship

The NGS Scholarship is awarded to talented students with an aptitude for innovative, high calibre PhD research.

Terms
    Monthly stipend of S$3,200 up to 4 years of the PhD studies, or up to date of graduation, whichever is earlier.
    Other allowances include :  computer allowance,  book allowance, conference allowance.
    Student must commit to PhD from the outset, cannot exit with MSc.

The terms for the NGS Scholarship are being reviewed. Revised terms of the Scholarship will be implemented from the January 2014 intake onwards.

Eligibility
    Opens worldwide.
    Graduates with a passion for research.
    Graduates with at least 2nd Upper Honours, or equivalent qualifications.
    GRE is compulsory for students applying from overseas. Only strongly recommended for graduates from local institutions, e.g. NUS or NTU.
    TOEFL is compulsory (ONLY applicable for applicants whose native tongue or medium of undergraduate instruction is not in English).

Condition
    Students are not eligible for the President's Graduate Fellowship (PGF).
    Award is renewable, subject to satisfactory academic performance of CAP ≥ 3.8 at the end of every semester.

2013 FORD FOUNDATION FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMS

Through its Fellowship Programs, the Ford Foundation seeks to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, to maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and to increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.

Eligibility to apply for a Ford fellowship is limited to:
- All citizens or nationals of the United States regardless of race, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation,
- Individuals with evidence of superior academic achievement (such as grade point average, class rank, honors or other designations),
- Individuals committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level.

MBA Graduate Fellowships

The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management is the country's preeminent organization for promoting diversity and inclusion in American business. The Consortium awards merit-based, full-tuition fellowships to America's best and brightest candidates. All U.S. citizens and permanent residents who can demonstrate a commitment to The Consortium’s mission can apply. All applicants, regardless of race or ethnicity, must be able to demonstrate this commitment.

Benefits of Applying Through The Consortium
There are four key benefits to applying through The Consortium’s common application:

Consortium Membership
    Consortium members gain many benefits, including access to over 70 corporate partners, a mandatory Annual Orientation Program & Career Forum (OP) prior to beginning their MBAs, and access to nearly 6,000 Consortium alumni across member schools.

The Consortium Fellowship

Public Policy and International Affairs Program (PPIA) Fellowships

The PPIA Fellowship Program helps students achieve a Master's Degree or joint degree, typically in public policy, public administration, international affairs or a related field. The organization does this through the intensive study provided by participation in a Junior Summer Institute (JSI), through partnerships with universities across the country, and through an alumni network that provides opportunities to connect with nearly 4000 individuals who share the same interest in public service.

The entry point for the PPIA Fellowship Program is attendance at one of our Junior Summer Institutes (JSI). Each year, this national program selects an elite group of students to participate in our Junior Summer Institutes, where these high-potential individuals are equipped with the knowledge and skills they will need to succeed in graduate school and ultimately, in influential roles serving the public good.


Who is eligible to apply?
All prospective PPIA Fellows are expected to dedicate themselves to the traditions and objectives of the PPIA Fellowship Program, have an abiding commitment to public service and contribute to more diverse perspectives in public policy and international affairs. The following are more specific criteria and guidelines:

• If you are a United States citizen or legal permanent resident you are eligible to apply to all JSI programs. International applicants pursuing a bachelor's degree in the U.S. will only be considered for the JSI programs at Carnegie Mellon University and Princeton University.
• Applicants must have completed junior year of college by the start of Junior Summer Institute (JSI) and have at least one full semester or two quarters of coursework remaining before graduation. Furthermore, the expected graduation from an undergraduate institution can be no later than August 2014.
• Must not have attained a Bachelor's Degree prior to start of Junior Summer Institute.
• Must be committed to completing a Master's Degree in public and/or international affairs at one of the PPIA Consortium graduate schools.
• Must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a professional career associated with public service such as government, nonprofits, humanitarian and international organizations and other related programs.
• Must be interested in contributing to the diversity of perspectives present in the PPIA Fellowship Program.
• Economic need is given consideration during the review of applications.
• All academic majors are welcome to apply.

If you select UC Berkeley among your potential JSIs, please note the following:

• Required: You must specifically demonstrate involvement in working to improve historically underserved or underrepresented communities, including African Americans, Asian Americans, Latino/as, Native Americans and Pacific Islanders.
• Optional: If you are interested in being eligible for selection as a UC Berkeley PPIA Law Fellow, you must also explain your interests for wanting to pursue a joint law and public policy degree, what skills you would be seeking to acquire and how you could apply such skills to further your public service career goals.

What are the benefits of participation?

• Full tuition at a PPIA Junior Summer Institute.
• Eligibility to receive assistance with travel expenses.
• A stipend of up to $1,500 (funding determined by each JSI).
• University housing with a meal plan.
• Books and related course materials at your JSI.

• Minimum of a one-time $5,000 scholarship at a PPIA graduate school if admitted for a Master's degree. PPIA Fellows often receive financial offers above and beyond this minimum from their graduate program.

The first call will be open on 5th December 2011 to applicants at the Staff and Doctoral level

Scholarships for Staff level mobilities will include:

• €2500 / month for a duration of 1-3 months

Scholarships for Doctoral level mobilities will include:

• €1500 / month for a duration of 6-30 months
• travel costs 
• insurance coverage
