AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students

The AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students ensures that CPAs of diverse backgrounds are visible in college and university classrooms. The program's goal is to increase the number of minority CPAs who serve as role models and mentors to young people in the academic environment and university classrooms. The AICPA Foundation awards annual fellowships of $12,000 to full-time minority accounting scholars who demonstrate significant potential to become accounting educators.

Program Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants must meet the following requirements:

    a) Applied to a doctoral program and awaiting word on acceptance; b) been accepted into a doctoral program; or c) already matriculated in a doctoral program and pursuing appropriate coursework
    Earned a Master’s Degree and/or completed at least 3 years of full-time experience in the accounting practice
    Minority student of Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; or Native American ethnicity
    Attend school on a full-time basis and plan to remain enrolled full-time until attaining doctoral degree
    Agree not to work full-time in a paid position or accept responsibility for teaching more than one course per semester as a teaching assistant, or dedicate more than one quarter of my time as a research assistant

Am I eligible for the AICPA Minority Doctoral Fellowship if I am receiving additional funding for my studies?
Depending on the type of additional program funding you are receiving, you may or may not be eligible. If you are receiving a stipend from the university you are enrolled in, you are eligible for the AICPA Minority Doctoral Fellowship. If you have received a stipend from the Accounting Doctoral Scholarship (ADS) Program, you may not be eligible for the AICPA Minority Doctoral Fellowship award.

UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme



The aim of this fellowships programme is to enhance the capacity-building and human resources development in the area of sustainable and renewable energy sources in developing countries and countries in transition. The training activities in the framework of these fellowships are tenable in specialized institutions in the Russian Federation. The medium of instruction will be English. UNESCO will solicit applications from the developing countries and countries in transition.

In line with the strategy and objectives of the approved UNESCO Programme and Budget for the Fellowships Programme Section, the UNESCO Category II International Center for Sustainable Energy Development (ISEDC) in Moscow (Russian Federation) is offering twenty (20) fellowships of four weeks (4)  duration each in 2017.

Field of Study
One month duration: from 2 to 27 October 2017.

The candidates may choose to study in the following fields of study, which are aligned with UNESCO’s objectives and programme priorities, as per approved 35 C/5 and in accordance with the decisions made by the Executive Board (161 EX/Decision 3.6.3 and 165 EX/Decision 8.6) :

Qualifications Required

(a) Holder of at least a BSc degree or BA in Economics;
(b) Proficient in English language;

Procedures on Submission of applications
(a) All applications should be endorsed by the National Commission for UNESCO and must be duly completed in English or French with the following attachments in DUPLICATE:

    • The prescribed UNESCO fellowship application form;
    • Six photographs;
    • Certified photocopies of Diplomas;
    • Certificate of English Language proficiency;
    • Subsequently, for those who have been selected, the UNESCO medical examination form duly completed by a recognized physician (not more than four months before the actual date of studies). The prescribed form of which will be sent along with the letter of award. Expenses incurred in the constitution of the medical dossiers will not be reimbursed.

(b) Files which are incomplete or received after the deadline for the submission of applications and candidatures, and do not fulfil the requirements mentioned above, will not be considered.
(c) Each invited Member State is requested to nominate not more than two (2) candidates.

UNESCO/People's Republic of China Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme

UNESCO/People's Republic of China (The Great Wall) Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme 2017-2018

The Government of the People's Republic of China has placed at the disposal of UNESCO for the academic year 2017-2018 seventy-five (75) fellowships for advanced studies at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These fellowships are for the benefit of developing Member States in Africa, Asia–Pacific, Latin America, Europe and North America and Arab region.

Tenable at a number of Chinese universities, these fellowships are offered to senior advanced students intending to to pursue higher education or undertake individual research with periodic guidance from assigned supervisors for a duration of one academic year (from September 2017 to July 2018). In most cases, fellows will participate in the programmes conducted in English while in exceptional cases, some candidates may be required to study Chinese language before taking up research or study in their field of interest.

Twenty (20) of the 75 fellowships are especially intended for candidatures of teacher educators and trainers from the 10 African countries under UNESCO-China Funds-in-Trust Project (CFIT) to pursue an Advanced Training Programme for Education Administrators and Teacher Educators at East China Normal University.

Eligibility

(i) Applicants applying for general scholar programs must be under the age of forty-five (45) and have completed at least two years of undergraduate study; and those who applying for senior scholar programmes must be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) and under the age of fifty (50).

(ii) English proficiency is required.

(iii) Be in good health, both mentally and physically.


How to Apply?
Step 1:
Read carefully the Announcement letter, especially the attached ANNEX II, for UNESCO/China Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme 2017-2018 to understand the requirements for eligible candidatures and the procedures for the submission of application.

Step 2:
Visit the official website of China Scholarship Council (CSC): http://www.campuschina.org/,  to check more details on the fellowships programme and available fields of study and universities of your interest.

Step 3:
Prepare your application documents (in English or Chinese) properly according to the requirements prescribed in ANNEX II.
Applicants are encouraged to contact in advance with their target Chinese universities. For the applicants who have received the pre-admission letters from designated Chinese universities by the time of submission, please attach your pre-admission letters in the supporting documents.

Step 4:
Register in CSC Chinese Scholarship Information System for International Students at www.campuschina.org/noticeen.html (Programme Category Type A, Agency number 00001) and submit your online application by following the guidance in Instructions of the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System for International Students.

Step 5
Print out your online application form and send it to the National Commission for UNESCO of your country, attached with the hard copies of all the required documents (in duplicate).

NOTE: As National Commission for UNESCO of the invited countries will select and transmit the documents of nominated candidates to UNESCO Paris Headquarter by 20 April 2017 at the latest, applicants are advised to submit their application, both online and to their National Commissions as early as possible. New Zealand Scholarships



The New Zealand Aid Programme offers several different types of scholarship. Most are for full-time tertiary study in New Zealand. There are also two other scholarship schemes: one is for full-time tertiary study in a Pacific Island Country university, one is for short-term professional development or vocational training.

Scholarship Types Overview
There are four types of scholarships for full-time tertiary level study in New Zealand:

    New Zealand Pacific Scholarships
    New Zealand Development Scholarships
    New Zealand ASEAN Scholarships
    New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships

Two other scholarship types are also available:

    Scholarships for full-time tertiary level study at a Pacific Island Country university (under the New Zealand Regional Development Scholarships) are available to citizens of selected countries in the Pacific.
    Scholarships for short-term (up to one year) professional development or vocational training in New Zealand (under the Short Term Training Scholarships) are currently available to citizens of selected Pacific Island and ASEAN countries.



Financial benefits
Our scholarships provide the following financial support:

    - full tuition fees
    - a fortnightly living allowance - this is a contribution to basic living expenses
    - an establishment allowance - this is a once only payment as a contribution towards accommodation expenses, text books, study materials
    - medical and travel insurance
    - travel to and from your home country - this is for travel from your home country at the start of the scholarship, and for you to return to your home country at the end of your scholarship. Note that we offer our scholarships for the shortest amount of time needed for you to complete the academic programme.

In order to promote excellence in academic disciplines, NABA intends to support highly motivated and talented young people, by offering 40 scholarships that partially cover (60%, 50%, 40% and 20%) the tuition fees to attend the postgraduate programs starting next September.

Loomer-Mortenson Scholarships

The ACA International Education Foundation (ACAEF) is continuing to focus on increasing educational opportunities through its Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship Program, and applications for 2017 are now available.
“The Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship Program, because of members’ continued support of the ACAEF, presents a significant opportunity for industry professionals and their children to further their education,” said Jim Richards, chair of the ACAEF Board.
This year, the ACAEF will select 15 scholarship recipients. The first-place prize is $10,000, twice the size of last year’s prize, and total of $30,000 will be awarded. One second-place recipient will be awarded $5,000; one third-place recipient will be awarded $3,000 and 12 fourth-place recipients will receive $1,000 each.
ACA International encourages members, company and state unit leaders to share the Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship opportunity with their entire staff and colleagues in the industry through their website, newsletters or internal email updates.
Scholarship applicants must be a current employee—or child of an employee—at a company affiliated with the credit and collection industry. Winners will be selected based on their cumulative grade point average and a two- to three-page essay on the value of consumer credit to our nation’s economy. Scholarship recipients must enroll in at least 12 credit hours at an accredited college, university, vocational-technical college or community college within 12 months of winning the award.
The scholarship program was created in the memory of ACA member Robert E. Loomer and ACA staff member Irvin “Dempsey” Mortenson.
Winners of the Loomer-Mortenson Scholarships will be announced at the ACA International 2017 Convention & Expo, held July 16-18 in Seattle.

Design scholarships available through IFDA

The International Furnishings and Design Association’s Educational Foundation is giving away a total of $12,500 in scholarships to seven selected recipients attending higher education institutions.

Students whose collegiate focus includes interior design, furniture design or marketing can apply between March 1 and 31. More information is available at ifdaef.org and winners will be notified by July 31.

EF funding, as described below, is the design industry's largest scholarship resource for students focused on design-industry careers.

"By providing these awards, we are giving serious, talented students the opportunity to fine-tune their organizational skills and have their work seen and evaluated by industry professionals,” said Linda Mariani, the foundation’s director of scholarships and grants.

The seven scholarships and amounts are:

The foundation has recognized that education in the furnishings and design industry is central to developing and enhancing the careers of designers and students destined to be on the leading edge of innovation and creativity,” said Linda Hunt, Educational Foundation chair.
  • IFDA Leaders Commemorative Scholarship is open to full-time students who are currently enrolled in an interior design or related program, are engaged in some volunteer or community service project and have held leadership posts during the past five years: $1,500.
  • Part-Time Student Scholarship will be awarded to a degree-seeking undergraduate currently enrolled part time in a continuing interior design or related program at an accredited institution: $1,500.
  • IFDA Student Member Scholarship is open to any full-time under-graduate who has completed at least four design courses in a post - secondary interior design or related program and is also a student member of one of IFDA's regional chapters: $2,000.
  • The Vercille Voss IFDA Graduate Student Scholarship will be presented to a full- or part-time graduate student who is currently enrolled at an accredited institution, has completed four design courses in post-secondary education and is pursuing a major in interior design or a related field: $2,000.
  • The Ruth Clark Furniture Design Scholarship is available to any currently enrolled full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate design major specializing in residential wood and/or upholstered furniture design. $3,000.
  • Tricia LeVangie Green/Sustainable Design Scholarship is open to currently enrolled full- or part-time undergraduate students who have completed four design courses in post-secondary education and are majoring in interior design or a related field, with plans to become educated participants in the green movement. $1,500.
  • Window Fashion Certified Professionals Fast Track Scholarship, to be awarded to a student seeking workroom or design certification, is open to anyone enrolled in an interior design (or related) program at a two- or three-year institution: one full $1,000 registration.
