DOE Scholars Program

The DOE Scholars Program introduces students or recent college graduates to DOE’s mission and operations. As a participant in the DOE Scholars Program, you will earn a competitive edge by familiarizing yourself with DOE functions while showcasing your education, talent and skills.

The U.S. Department of Energy seeks students and post-graduates for the DOE Scholars Program in the following disciplines:
Engineering, Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Information Technology, Physics, Business, Policy, Program Management, Mathematics,  Statistics, Safety and Health, Accounting and Finance, Law, Communications and other related areas

To qualify for the DOE Scholars Program, you will need to meet the following eligibility criteria:
- U.S. citizenship, and at least 16 years of age (no exceptions).
- Undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate of an accredited institute of higher education. Exceptions may be made on academic status on a case-by-case basis for summer appointments only.

Being selected as a DOE Scholar offers the following benefits:

- Stipends of up to $650 per week (depending on academic status)
- Travel arrangements to and from appointment site; travel reimbursements for occasional off-site meetings
