Fulbright ANU College of Business and Economics Postgraduate Scholarship

The Australian National University (ANU) College of Business and Economics and the Australian-American Fulbright Commission have teamed up to establish a new Scholarship for American Scholars studying in the area of business or economics. The first Scholarship will be awarded in 2010.

The Scholarship is valued up to A $40,000 in 2010 and will give a talented scholar the opportunity for study and research in Australia with the ANU College of Business and Economics for 8-12 months.

This Scholarship is for U.S. citizens wishing to carry out research towards their U.S. postgraduate degree, or undertake an Australian postgraduate degree by research, working with the ANU College of Business and Economics. Applications are invited from graduates in the field of business and economics to work in the College.

The Scholar will receive (tax free in Australia):

  • a travel entitlement of US $4,017
  • a stipend of A $2,163 per month for a maximum period of 12 months
  • an establishment allowance of A $1,545
  • an excess baggage allowance of A $144
  • Medicare health care coverage while in Australia
  • travel and accommodation to attend the Enrichment Seminar and other events
  • support with visas (fees waived) and administrative arrangements.

The Scholarship period may be extended but without funding from the Fulbright Commission.

The ANU College of Business and Economics seeks to advance knowledge through high quality teaching and research in the closely related areas of accounting, actuarial studies, business administration, business information systems, economics, econometrics, finance, international business, management, marketing and applied statistics

Applications for the 2010 Scholarship are now open and will close in October 2009. Applicants will be assessed by their academic and professional merit; clearly defined and achievable projects; and the potential for their projects to add value and build collaborations between Australia and the U.S.
