'Islam and Law in Southeast Asia' Fieldwork Scholarships

‘Islam and Law in Southeast Asia’ Fieldwork Scholarships of up to A$2,000 are available for Masters or PhD candidates enrolled at the University of Melbourne. The scholarships must be used to support fieldwork in Southeast Asia on Islam-related topics that match the themes of Professor Tim Lindsey’s ARC Federation Fellowship. Availability:
This scholarship is offered annually to 5 people. Open for applications from September 1, 2010 until September 24, 2010.

Payment Information:
The value of this scholarship is AUD2000 (maximum per award). This award is to be used for accommodation, research, living expenses and travel. This scholarship is paid as a one off.

Research Information:
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Cultural studies, Justice and legal studies, Law, Other law, justice and law enforcement or Religion and religious traditions. It is required that your study starts no earlier than October 1, 2010 and no later than July 31, 2011.

Eligibility:
This scholarship is for study in Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore or Vietnam for those who have achieved Masters or equivalent. You must have studied at or be currently studying at The University of Melbourne.
