The Vanguard Women in Information Technology Scholarship

The Vanguard Women in Information Technology Scholarship Program provides merit-based scholarships of up to $10,000 to female students entering their junior or senior year of college during the 2011-12 school year. Applicants must be pursuing studies in computer science, computer engineering, Web design or other IT-related disciplines. To be considered, you must:

* Be a female college student entering your junior or senior year of college in fall 2011.
* Be enrolled full-time in a four-year accredited college or university in the United States for the entire 2011-12 academic year.
* Be pursuing a major in computer science, computer engineering, Web design, or another IT-related discipline.
* Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
* Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States.

The program's goal is to remove financial barriers for female students pursuing professions in IT. Recipients will be required to report other awards granted and supply their school's financial aid award letters. Scholarship checks are sent directly to your home address, made payable to the school of your choice. The scholarship can be used for tuition, fees, books, and supplies.
