Empowering Network for International Thai Studies (ENITS)
Institute of Thai Studies, Chulalongkorn Universitywith support from The Thailand Research Fund (TRF)
To increase and disseminate research works and encourage young researchers in Thai studies, Institute of Thai Studies, Chulalongkorn University, with support from The Thailand Research Fund (TRF), wishes to call your attention of the availability of scholarships for graduate students and scholars working on Thai studies or related disciplines.
Applicants must not be receiving TRF Royal Golden Jubilee Ph.D. Grant or TRF Master Research Grant.
The application deadline is December 15, 2008. (Applications must be received by this date.)
Awards will be announced within January 15, 2009 via ENITS website (www.enitschula.net).

1.) Scholarships for Graduate Students enrolled in Thai institutions.
Requirement
Recipients are required to submit an original unpublished research paper by May 15, 2009. Institute of Thai Studies, Chulalongkorn University, reserves the right of publication or dissemination of the research papers.
Awards
40,000 THB each for master’s students.
80,000 THB each for doctorate students.
Eligibility
(1) Full-time master’s students of any discipline related to Thai studies enrolled in Thai institutions who have had their dissertation proposal formally approved by their department.
(2) Full-time doctorate students of any discipline related to Thai studies enrolled in Thai institutions who have had their dissertation proposal formally approved by their department or who are working toward their dissertation proposal.
Application
Please send the following items with your application:
(1) Application form. (download)
(2) For Thai, a copy of identification card. For others, a copy of passport of the page with your photo on.
(3) A reference from your faculty advisor.
(4) A copy of your transcript.
(5) A 250-word (maximum) abstract of your research.
(6) For students who have had their dissertation proposal approved, a further description of not more than 3 pages, 1.5 spaced, Times New Roman 12 point font, which describes your research. For students who have not had their dissertation proposal approved, a research plan.
(7) Selected bibliography.
2.) Scholarships for Graduate Students enrolled in Institutions outside Thailand.
Requirement
Recipients are required to submit an original unpublished research paper and give an oral presentation in Thailand by May 15, 2009. Institute of Thai Studies, Chulalongkorn University, reserves the right of publication or dissemination of the research papers.
Awards
80,000 THB each.
Eligibility
Full-time doctorate students of any discipline related to Thai studies enrolled in any institution outside Thailand who have had their dissertation proposal formally approved by their department or who are working toward their dissertation proposal.

Anyone who has had master’s or doctoral degree of any discipline related to Thai studies no more than 2 years from any institution.
