East Texas Communities Foundation is currently accepting applications from East Texas students for thirty-nine scholarships.
Applications are now open for submission for scholarships to be awarded for the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 semesters. Unless noted otherwise, all applications and required supporting documents - including references - must be submitted by March 1, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.

At the end of the scholarship's description you will click Access Application to be taken to the online application system. If it is your first time to access the system, you will be asked to create a login and password. Remember your login information as you will need it to get back into your application or to complete additional applications. You will be able to exit and save your application(s) to complete another day. Submitted applications may be edited up to the deadline.
A student may apply for every scholarship for which he or she meets the eligibility requirements. Applicants must submit an unique application for EACH scholarship. DO NOT submit only a common application.
Public and private schools located in Arp, Bullard, Chapel Hill, Lindale, Troup, Tyler, Whitehouse, and Winona are Smith County schools. Students residing in Smith County and within the Van ISD and Gladewater ISD boundaries also meet Smith County eligibility requirements. East Texas residents are those living in one of the following counties: Anderson, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Delta, Franklin, Freestone, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins, Houston, Lamar, Leon, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rains, Red River, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Trinity, Upshur, Van Zandt, Wood.
You are advised to read through the entire application before starting to determine which supporting documents are required. This may include transcripts, SAT/ACT scores, FAFSA data, acceptance letters, or proof of employment.
Please note the award amounts listed for each scholarship are estimated based on historical amounts. Current year scholarship amounts will be based on availability of funds.
*Parents, please take a moment to consider your involvement with your child's scholarship application. It is the student's responsibility to complete the applications, although parents may assist (particularly with finance related questions). David G. and Jacqueline M . Braithwaite Scholarship in Medicine, Biotechnology, and Veterinary Medicine -
For an East Texas graduating senior who plans on majoring in biology,
mathematics, engineering or a related field which will allow them to
pursue a career in medicine, biotechnology, or veterinary medicine as a
doctor, dentist, veterinarian or biotechnologist.
Jacqueline M. Braithwaite Scholarship for Nursing at Tyler Junior College - For East Texas residents pursuing a nursing degree from Tyler Junior College.
David G. and Jacqueline M. Braithwaite Scholarship for Vocational/Technical Study in Medically Related Fields - For any person pursuing a vocational/technical associates degree or certificate in a medically related field.
(Students seeking a four-year degree are not eligible. Preference is given to students pursuing fields of study other than nursing.)

characteristics of Earl Campbell and participated in varsity
athletics
Adam Carroll Scholarship - For Grand Saline graduating seniors who have participated in high school athletics or cheerleading (Van Zandt, Wood or Smith County only).
Citizens 1st Bank/Perkins Family Foundation State Employees' Children's Scholarship - For children of current State of Texas employees
(Cherokee, Nacogdoches and Smith County only).

East Texas Geological Society Scholarship - For geoscience majors in an undergraduate or master’s degree program and who are preferably from the East Texas area.

For graduating seniors at Whitehouse High School who have participated
in the band program for 4 years and show high moral character.
Winifred K. George Scholarship - For graduating seniors from a Smith County high school attending Abilene Christian University.
J.L. Gulley, Jr. Texas Tech Scholarship - For East Texas residents and residents of Quanah, TX who plan to attend Texas Tech.
Richard B. and Mary Lou Hamm Scholarship - For Bullard High School graduating seniors who plan to attend the University of Texas at Tyler.

For graduating seniors from Smith County and Bellaire High School,
Bellaire, Texas who have been accepted to attend the University of Texas
at Austin and who plan to major in business.
Natural Gas Society of East Texas Scholarship - For Texas college students at the undergraduate or graduate level who have declared a major in a field of study which directly relates to the energy industry.
Gary Neel Memorial Scholarship - For a graduating senior from Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler who plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin.
Partners in Arts Scholarship - For a graduating senior at a Smith County high school planning to major in the visual or performing arts.
Peace Officers and Firefighters Scholarship -
For graduating seniors who are the dependent children of an individual
currently employed as a Peace Officer or professional Firefighter.
Jay D. Powell Science and Technology Scholarship - For
graduating seniors from John Tyler High School or Robert E. Lee High
School planning to major in a STEM field at at school in the State of
Texas.
Glenn and Vivian Prater Memorial Scholarship -
For Eagle Scouts graduated or graduating from high schools in East
Texas and Liberty County, TX who have been accepted to or are currently
attending Texas A&M University.
Ben and Florine Ramsey Scholarship - For graduating seniors or prior graduates of San Augustine High School in San Augustine, Texas.
Leslie Reid Memorial Scholarship - For female students from Henderson County who are currently or were previously involved in horse show activities
Retail Merchants Association Scholarship - For graduating seniors from Smith County and selected surrounding area high schools who plan to major in business.

Sharyland Utilities Scholarship - For
