Undergraduate Animal Science and Dairy Science Scholarships

Iowa State University Department of Animal Science
2015 Scholarship Application for Animal Science and Dairy Science Majors

We have a great number of very generous sponsors of scholarships and together with them we thank you for taking time to apply.   The following pages require your input to apply for the scholarships available to both freshman and upperclassmen enrolled in either animal science or dairy science for the 2016-2017 academic year at Iowa State University.

These are only for scholarships administered through the Department of Animal Science.   One is advised to check with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (http://www.agstudent.iastate.edu/student_services.php) for awards made at the college level.

  • Your work is saved in real time as you key in additional input or edit the document.
  • If you accidentally hit the "x" button, try choosing the undo feature ( e.g. control-z) to bring the window back up.
  • Once you submit the application (the last page), your survey is saved, and then editing will not be possible on this application.  So only submit the final page when your application is complete.   Otherwise, you can open the link and start over.
  • You will be able to come back and edit your work (unless you hit the final forward button).  Simply close out of the browser, and come back to the same link on the same device.
  • Review the scholarship criteria first, before you check those for which you may be eligible.   It is important to choose for which you are eligible, but if you clearly are not, do not choose that scholarship.
Eligibility
  • Any changes, intentional or otherwise in the status of a student may cause the award to be rescinded.   For example, FAFSA reporting is required to establish financial need.  If a FAFSA report indicates that financial need is no longer established, then an award will be revoked. This may be an unintentional change, but the rules are very strict in these regards, no matter the situation.
  • You do not need to file FAFSA to be eligible for awards for which the establishment of financial need is not a requirement.
  • You may indicate eligibility for awards that are based on financial need and also those which are not need based.  You can choose multiple awards, and it is likely that most applicants will be eligible for several different awards.
  • A student must remain in the major they declare for the academic year to continue to receive the award.  And the classification of the student based is on credits (e.g. sophomore, junior or etc. ) must be accurate at the beginning of the term to receive the award.  A student having earned 30, 60 or 90 credits will be classified as a sophomore, junior or senior respectively.   The upperclassmen awards are listed together, though some are only offered for certain classifications  of students.

Deadlines
This application process becomes active beginning January 1, 2016 at 1 am and will become inactive on February 15, 2016 at 10 pm.
