- For any GPA quoted, indicate clearly what the mark is out of, e.g. 3.5/4
- No reference should be made to financial circumstances as awards based on academic merit and research potential.

School of Languages, Cultures and Societies Studentship Award for Excellence
The University of Leeds School of Languages, Cultures and Societies
is pleased to announce a three-year fully-funded (fees and maintenance)
PhD Studentship or one-year fully funded (fees and maintenance) Masters
by Research (MAR) studentship within the School of Languages, Cultures
and Societies to commence on 01 October 2016.- Eligibility: The award is open to Home/EU
fee-rated students from a range of disciplinary backgrounds who will be
supervised in any area within the School and who have an exceptional
academic record in their studies so far as well as an excellent research
proposal for either an MA by Research or a PhD.
Applicants for the MAR must have an excellent first degree in an appropriate subject, and for the PhD a Master’s degree relevant to the proposed research. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional research potential, have a well-developed proposal realisable within the funded period and in line with research interests of the chosen supervisor at Leeds.
The student will be required to be resident in or within reasonable travelling distance of Leeds for the duration of their studies. - Deadline: 12 June 2016
- Value of Award: a three-year fully-funded PhD Studentship or one-year fully funded Masters by Research (MAR) studentship. Fully-funded includes fees and maintenance.
